Kevin was introduced to Canal Connections via the work we did with the Ribble and “This Island Is Mine.”

The Ribble was moored at Rodley for the night, about to start the show; Trevor was onboard and had noticed Kevin looking at the boat. Trevor offered to show him around and started to explain what we do at Canal Connections. Excited to see what we do Kevin offered to help, passing his number to Trevor.

What Kevin probably did not expect was that the day after Trevor rung him asking for support. Kevin hit the ground running! With the volunteers he supported the rebuild of Michael Hayes. Kevin soon became an integral part of Canal Connections, supporting Forging Futures and the other volunteers. Willing to try anything and support anybody with his life skills, Kevin has also supported the young people with interviewing techniques and CV writing and has introduced some young people to business owners.
