Inspiration

Leeds City Region still has the extensive canal and navigable waterways network that enabled it to become a cradle for innovation at the heart of the Industrial Revolution. Stimulus

Many of those communities are now suffering from high levels of disadvantage, with sense of identity and pride in place crumbling away, but viewing the City from a boat can give them a different perspective of both place and identity, igniting a quest to learn and achieve.

Catalyst For Change

95% of the social and economic capacity of this waterways network is currently under-used: it is a largely unrealised asset for both individuals and agencies who are seeking alternatives to traditional methods of engagement and empowerment.
